SERVICING

As we are an established local company, we are more than willing to tailor any specific work required to your needs and adjust the prices up or down accordingly by mutual agreement before any work is carried out.

Cost of all parts are excluded, unless otherwise specifically stated. For transparency, if any supplementary parts are required, we will always contact you before we undertake the work.

In the rare case that a bike is deemed too dirty to be worked on by the mechanic, we reserve the right to apply a cleaning surcharge at our discretion.

How the servicing / repair process works here at Anglesey Bikes

1) Customers can choose to pre-book their bike in with us or simply drop it into our shop

2) when the bike arrives we will have a quick conversation with you the owner about any specific requirements you may have

3) later that day, or the next morning (at the latest) we will put the bike onto one of our inspection stands and will log any and all work necessary.

4) we will always either ring or text you the customer with a firm and itemised quotation. We will request that you respond in good time with any questions or confirm that the work is accepted. If we have received no specific request not to have the work carried out after 24 hours, we will assume that you are ok with the work required and we will then proceed.

5) only when the work has been ok’d by you, will we plan the bike into our workshop diary to have the repairs / servicing completed.

6) we will always text / ring as soon as the work is finished and the bike is ready for collection.

Typical turnaround for servicing is 2-3 days.

Turnaround for wheel trues / simple adjustments is typically 24 hours or even the same day wherever we possibly can.

Standard Service: set-up of brakes and gears, truing of both wheels, tighten up all bolts to required torque, lubrication of chain, full drivetrain clean. Inspection for damage / wear. Does not include the servicing of any suspension specific components.

Please note that this service, excludes the cost of any necessary replacement parts.

Full service: full strip down of the bike. Inspection of: hub bearings / headset bearings / bottom bracket bearings. Set-up of gears & brakes, check for trueness of both wheels. Tighten up all bolts to the required torque & inspection for damage / wear. Please note that this service, excludes the cost of any necessary replacement parts. Does not include the servicing of any suspension specific components.

E-Bike Service: set-up of brakes and gears, truing of both wheels, tighten up all bolts to required torque, lubrication of chain, full drivetrain clean. Inspection for damage / wear. Check electrical connections and bike functionality. Does not include the servicing of any suspension specific components. Please note that any firmware and/or software checks and updates may incur an extra charge. (Please see below for further details).

Bottom bracket fitting: includes removal of old bottom bracket; cleaning and re-tapping of threads and the facing of the bottom bracket cups if necessary; fitting of new bottom bracket. The cost of appropriate lubricants is included.

Cable brake service: adjustment & set-up of both existing front and rear cable operated brakes. Also includes wear assessment.

Cable gear service: adjustment & set-up of existing front and rear derailleurs. Also includes full chain clean and lubrication with wear assessment. Rear derailleur hanger alignment will also be checked and adjusted if necessary.

Wheel hub service. Strip down of hub. Clean. Re-grease with appropriate grease and test. The cost of bearings is on top of this labour charge.

Loose ball earrings included. Sealed bearings not included, will be costed at the time of quoting the job.

Headset fitting: headset fitting includes removal of old headset, cleaning and greasing of cups & steerer tube, fitting of new headset (price of new headset not included).

Hydraulic brake service / bleed: Adjustment & set-up of either a front or a rear hydraulic brake. Full bleed and set-up of hydraulic disc brakes. Hydraulic fluid is included. New pads etc are not included.

Wheel build. Full strip down of a wheel, re-spoke, tension, dish and true of a new wheel.

Rear suspension service: this service is make and model specific to each customer. Starts from a strip down, clean and new oil (oil included) and reassembly. If the shock needs to be nitrogen charged, the shock will be externally serviced at the customer’s additional expense. Cost of any new seals are excluded.

Front suspension fork service: this service is make and model specific to each customer. Starts from a full strip down, clean and new oil (oil included).

We are more than happy too order special parts / accessories as specified by you the customer. However being a special order we kindly request payment in advance. This is non-refundable transaction unless the item is deemed to be faulty by Anglesey Bikes. Please also be aware that we are also not responsible for any delivery / courier delays that may occur.
